STEPHEN HEBERT

HEAD CHEF

Stephen Hebert, formerly a celebrated Marine Biologist, who started the first red fish farm in Louisiana,  is currently Executive Chef of Cafe' Gentilly in New Orleans' historic Gentilly Terrace neighborhood.  A native of Louisiana, he knows how creole food should taste.  The Chef's food preparation is deeply rooted in the values and traditions of creole culture. "Steve," as he is affectionally known, is a four-star chef with a down-home culinary pedigree.  He has personally cooked for professional athletes, and he is meticulous in his preparation of his cuisine in the belief that his food feeds the soul of each of his customers. Everything prepared at Cafe' Gentilly starts with the freshest and best ingredients available.  You can even take a taste of the good times with you when you leave.  He feels that the environment at Cafe' Gentilly should be warm, and inclusive of all types of people.
